Trick-or-Treat Among the Animals
Saturday, October 19, 2013 & Sunday, October 20, 2013 • Noon to 4:30pm Each Day

Wear your costume and visit five candy trails sponsored by local business and not-for-profit organizations. Family-friendly activities throughout the park, Zoo Ambassador Programs featuring live animal encounters and a Pumpkin PlayZone inside the Nature Exploration Center await each SPOOKtacular guest!

This event, as with all Sunset Zoo special events, is held rain or shine.
 
Special Admission Rates
  • $5 per trick-or-treating child, two adults admitted free with each paid child's admission
  • Children 2 & under (that are not trick-or-treating) admitted free
  • FOSZ members receive $1 off each child's admission
  • Regular admission of $4/adult applies to any additional adults & non trick-or-treating guests. FOSZ adult members are free.

Costumes, Candy Bags & Parking
  • Wear your costumes - adults and kids! Have fun and be creative, just remember you're walking through the Zoo.
  • Bring your candy bags to collect your candy loot.
  • Parking is available in the Zoo's main lot & the grass fields that surround the Zoo's entry. We'll have folks directing traffic - be patient & drive slowly.

We welcome 5,000+ guests over the SPOOKtacular weekend. Purchase your tickets now to speed through the ticket lines at the event! 
  • Purchase advance tickets online with a credit card.
  • Tickets can also be purchased in person at the Zoo's ticket booth; open daily from 9:30am to 5:00pm. Cash, check or credit card accepted.

  • ALL DAY: Pumpkin PlayZone inside the Nature Exploration Center featuring a straw bale maze, pumpkin games & more!
  • ALL DAY: Vote for your favorite hand-carved jack-o-lantern by KSU's College of Architecture, Planning & Design students in the Pavilion
  • NOON - 2:00PM - KSU's Tap Dance Ensemble's "Tappy Halloween" Performance near Pavilion 
  • 3:00PM - Manhattan High School's Pops Choir
  • 2:00 & 3:30PM - Zoo Ambassador Programs featuring live animal encounters in Chautauqua Amphitheater
  • Be sure to check out the pumpkin enrichment in many of the animal exhibits all weekend long!
