12 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Daily
(Fall/Winter dates November 1 - March 31)

Sunset Zoo is closed on Thanksgiving, day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas day, New Year’s Day & Employee Training Days. Animal care staff are present daily.

Home to over 150 amazing animals – from anteater to wallaby – Sunset Zoo in Manhattan, KS offers up-close views of amazing animals including emus, otters, leopards and a jumping, hooting array of primates.

Gift Shop

OPEN 9:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. daily during Summer hours and 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. during Winter hours.

The Zoo's gift shop is open year round when the Zoo is open. Bottled drinks, snacks, and dippin' dots are available for purchase year-round at the gift shop.

Expedition Café Concession Stand 

Open Late Spring to Late Summer from 11:00 AM to 4:30 PM. 

Featuring the full menu of sandwich baskets, popcorn, pretzels, nachos, and more. 

Open Early Fall to Early Spring from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays.

Featuring a seasonal menu of snacks, hot beverages, and mini donuts.  

Admission

Daily Admission 

  • Adults (age 13+ years): $6.00 per person
  • Children (age 3-12 years): $4.00 per person
  • Infants (age 2 & under): Free
  • Friends of Sunset Zoo Members: Free

Rentals
Double strollers: $5.25

Single strollers for $4.25

Push wagons for $3.25 each. Purchase at Gift Shop. 

Available for rent at the ticket booth window, pricing before sales tax, while supplies last, first come – first served, use at your own risk.

Wheelchairs and electric wheelchairs are not available for rent. Zoo guest are encouraged to bring their wheelchairs, electric wheelchairs, wagons, and push strollers. 

Prohibited Items: bicycles, skateboards, scooters, in-line skates, sports equipment, balloons, radio/music devices, glass containers, hoverboards, drones, street licensed/gas powered mobility devices, pets, grills, alcohol, and other items may apply.

Group Rates & School Visits

Half-price admission is available for groups of 20 people or more with two weeks advance notice required. Learn more about group and school visits. Special programming is also available to enhance your visit.

Service Animals

Fully trained service animals are permitted at Sunset Zoo on the park grounds and inside most Sunset Zoo Buildings. Prior notice is appreciated but not required. Pets and emotional-support pets are not permitted at Sunset Zoo or in buildings at Sunset Zoo.
