It's been awhile since our last post and we're slowing down a bit. Not in the puppy growth sector, but just the frequency of posts. The pups aren't very puppy anymore. They're more like kids who have personalities and are showing their growing independence. So we'll continue to update the community, you just may notice a few weeks in between pup-dates!
Over the last few weeks, Fin and Matty have enjoyed visiting the outdoor exhibit yard of the maned wolf and giant anteater exhibit. Having the opportunity to run - and burn off some energy - in this large space has been perfect. As youth, these canines have plenty of excitement and curiosity, and the outside play in a new space helps challenge them to explore and keep them active - both physically and mentally. Zoo guests have also enjoyed watching them!
We should also note that Fin's parents, Lelah and Meek, and the anteater, Angelica, go off exhibit when the pups are playing in the space. There is too much risk for the animals to feel threatened by the two pups, so we'll continue to exhibit them separately.
As far as Fin and Matty, they've certainly enjoyed exploring a new feature in the terrain, a pond! They've been curiously dipping into the water and running out quickly.
And because photos can be a little more enjoyable than words, we thought we'd share some of our favorites these last few weeks...
On your next trip to the Zoo, be sure to swing by the maned wolf and giant anteater exhibit yard if you're looking for the pair. They are starting to regularly rotate between this space and their outdoor kennel located near the South American Barn when they aren't in the yard. Until next time friends!
