2026 Flint Hills Festival Food Truck application

  1. Join us for the 2026 Flint Hills Festival!

    The Flint Hills Festival is the largest single day event at the Flint Hills Discovery Center. It is a celebration of the food, history, ecology, music, and people of the Flint Hills. The festival is a family-friendly event with live music, food trucks, games, and activities for all ages. The 2026 Flint Hills Festival is Saturday, May 2, from 10 am to 5 pm. The 2025 attendance was approximately 9,000.

  2. 2026 Flint Hills Festival Food Truck Guidelines

    1. Vendors are responsible for all city and state taxes. The Flint Hills Festival is located in a special sales tax district.

    2. Food trucks must be clean, attractive, and well maintained.

    3. Food truck staff must be clean and neatly dressed. They are expected to treat all customers in a courteous and friendly manner.

    4. All vendors must have a current Kansas Food Service License on hand the day of the festival.

    5. Glass containers are prohibited.

    6. Novelty items (cups, toys, giveaways) must be approved by the Flint Hills Festival planning committee.

    7. Photos supplied by the food truck (optional) may be used in promotional material and social media. In submitting their application, food trucks agree that they are allowing permission for photos or videos of their food truck, staff, or volunteers to be used in future promotional material and social media for the Flint Hills Discovery Center’s use.

    8. Food trucks are responsible for their own power. Generators with a sound level causing a negative impact on other vendors or attendees are not allowed. 

    9. The festival is open to the public from 10 am to 5 pm. Food truck set up begins at 8 am and trucks must in place by 10 am with service starting no later than 11 am. Trucks will not be allowed on the festival grounds after 10 am. Service may end no earlier than 4 pm and may go as late as 5 pm.

    10. The application and the $50 non-refundable vendor fee are due by Friday, April 3, 2026, to be included in marketing material. Vendor fees may be paid by check or credit card. Applications will not be considered finalized until the vendor fee has been received.

    11. The Flint Hills Festival Committee has the right to accept or refuse any application.
